Trainee Associate – Arbitration and Maritime
Role Description
- This is a full-time hybrid role for a Trainee Associate in Arbitration and Maritime located in Lagos, Nigeria.
- As a Trainee Associate, you will work closely with senior associates to carry out legal research, draft legal memoranda and briefs, and manage complex case files.
- You will also attend hearings and arbitration proceedings, as well as participate in settlement negotiations.
- While the majority of the work will be carried out in-house, some remote work is acceptable.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized institution.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively manage time and workload.
- Understanding of arbitration and maritime law is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other legal research databases/software.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality work.
- Eligibility for call to the Nigerian Bar is required.
