Supply Chain Supervisor
Job Context
- We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Supply Chain Supervisor to play a key role in optimizing our food production operations through efficient supply and management of produce and non consumables.
- You will be responsible for managing the flow of goods, inventory levels, and ensuring cost-effective procurement and inventory practices.
- This role is critical to maintaining efficient operations and maximizing our profitability.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement of ingredients, packaging materials, and other production supplies.
- Negotiate and secure contracts with vendors to achieve the best pricing, payment and operations terms.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers; expand our vendor/supply pool to ensure a strong network of suppliers to meet our production needs
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of our market; prices, where to source supplies from, to ensure efficient buying strategies.
- Forecast demand for raw materials and finished products.
- Develop and implement plans to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste.
- Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring efficient storage and handling of materials.
- Monitor supply processes and design operation targets to ensure timely deliveries.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures throughout the supply chain flow.
- Track and analyze supply chain data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with the data team to optimize warehouse and procurement costs
- Prepare reports on procurement, inventory, and delivery performance.
- Supervise and mentor a team of warehouse and sourcing personnel including external collaborators.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a supply chain management role within the food production industry (preferred).
- Strong understanding of procurement best practices, including negotiation and contract management.
- Proven ability to manage inventory levels and implement cost-saving measures.
- Experience with warehouse operations and management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Google (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and/or Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with supply chain management software is a plus.
