Senior Compliance Officer
Responsibilities:
- Conducting research on industry-specific compliance regulations and policies.
- Developing new compliance policies and procedures as required.
- Analyzing and updating existing compliance policies and related documentation.
- Communicating compliance policies and guidelines to clients/ Management and designated Departments.
- Ensuring proper registration/ incorporation of new businesses/ companies with the appropriate regulatory bodies.
- Applying for compliance certification and regulatory approval.
- Developing and maintaining a compliance record-keeping system.
- Ensuring proper filing and documentation of information.
- Organizing training for members of staff on industry-specific compliance requirements.
- Maintaining communication with compliance regulators and following up on applications.
- Keeping up with compliance requirements, amendments to regulations, and advising clients on regulatory and industry changes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, must have been called to the Nigerian Bar, and must have completed the NYSC program.
- 5 years experience in a Compliance role.
- Good knowledge of Nigerian Laws and how to apply them.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Perform legal and secretarial duties.
- Perform Quality Control reviews on engagements.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent research skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good team player.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Highly conscious of legal and ethical conduct.
