Senior Accountant
Role in Summary
- Oversees all accounting & tax activities of the company.
- Efficiently manage company financial software tools.
- Maintains effective internal control with total statutory compliance at all time.
- To ensure the financial stability & growth of the organization.
Reporting Line:
- Reports directly to CFO. Provides assistance to & receives direction from CEO through GM.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the A/R, A/P and GL Accounts postings of the Payable Accountant, Receivable Accountant & other Accountants on a timely basis.
- Supervision of Inventory activities— Inventory Receipts, Issues, Stock count, Costing of Stock items and posting of activities into the GL Accounts.
- Handles Banking relations & Treasury management for the company.
- Management of month-end closing of the A/R, A/P and other GL accounts.
- Monitoring the daily/weekly financial activities and monthly Accounts Reconciliation (Bank Accounts, Customers’ Accounts, Vendors’ Accounts and other GL Accounts).
- Monitor the Monthly Invoicing (Clients Billing) and A/R Collection for completeness and effective reporting.
- Responsible for validating the accuracy of postings of financial transactions batches (properly analyzing of ALL transactions before final processing into the GL Accounts)
- Supervise postings and remittances of the various Tax obligations—WHT, VAT, PAYE Tax, Staff Pensions, others.
- Supervise the preparation of the weekly activities Reports—Payables, Receivables, Inventory, Bank and Cash Balances etc
- Supervise materials procurement for the company at fair cost without compromising quality and approved specifications.
- Actively participate in the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual preparation of Financial / Management Accounts and other Financial Performance Reports.
- Actively participate in the annual Statutory Financial Audit and other Regulatory Audits.
- Supervision of the Accounts Reconciliation of Paystack and other payment gateway institutions.
- Assist in relationship management with Tax and other regulatory agencies
- Assist in relationship management with the Statutory Auditors and other consultants
- Actively participate in the financial and overall business improvement processes and procedures.

- Provides leadership, mentorship & training to the Junior Accounts Personnel.
- Performs other tasks assigned by the Management.
Requirements
- Degree holder in Accounting from reputable higher institution.
- Professional certification from recognised Accounting Bodies such as ICAN, ACCA etc.
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
- Good knowledge of financial software and must be proficient with Zoho Books.
- Attention to detail & thoroughness.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance,
- Excellent organizational & leadership skills.
- Outstanding communication & interpersonal abilities.
- Must have 6 -10 years cognate experience in a similar position from reputable big organization.
