Responsibilities

• HJFMRI Nigeria is seeking a Research Project Manager.
• The incumbent will be responsible for planning and development of research projects, operational management of study activities, coordination of budgets, monitoring of project progress, and communication with relevant sites and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of assigned projects

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the operational management of clinical research by applying comprehensive knowledge of clinical research logistics, project management, and data management to develop and execute appropriate project plans. Assist the identification, preparation, and submission of relevant grants.
• Support the design, development, and implementation of clinical research projects at the Clinical Research Center (CRC) in support of the WRP-N, EIDB, and MHRP mission. Assist in the development of protocol budgets and tracking of the expenses as needed to ensure efforts comply with study requirements.
• Participate in data analysis, and prepares scientific papers for presentation at local, national/international meetings and publications in medical and scientific periodicals.
• Perform administrative functions in support of research projects including but not limited to development of Scope of Work (SOW), monitoring, forecasting, and restocking of general commodities, liaising with the Procurement and Acquisitions unit to ensure timely completion of projects by vendors.
• Assess risks to project performance, develop and implements risk mitigation strategies, and monitors outcomes. Coordinates the execution of contracts and agreements as needed to support assigned projects.
• Assist with coordination of meetings, phone conferences, and protocol and procedure training sessions. Prepare protocol documentation and research reports.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Assigned Lead: May recommend the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, and starting salaries; provide input on employee performance evaluations.

Physical Capabilities

• Lifting: May require lifting materials over 25 lbs.
• Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods

• This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical research logistics, project management, grant applications, and budget development. Knowledge of statistical tools such as SAS, Stata, and GraphPad Prism; experience in the conduct and analysis of research involving clinical cohorts and/or epidemiological surveillance; familiarity with medical science and clinical research, ideally with experience in research related to infectious diseases.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Strong time management and prioritization skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Excellent computer skills. Ability to make effective presentations and publish scientific research.

Education And Experience

• Master’s Degree required in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics; Global Health or related field.
• Minimum of 6-8 years experience required.
