Job Summary
- The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring that products and services meet the established quality standards set by the organization.
- The Quality Control Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving the overall quality of products or services to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Quality Control Procedures:
- Design, document, and implement quality control procedures to ensure consistent product or service quality.
- Establish inspection and testing protocols to identify defects and deviations from quality standards.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and manage a team of quality control professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to integrate quality control processes into the entire product lifecycle.
Quality Audits and Inspections:
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess adherence to quality standards.
- Identify and address non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyse quality data and performance metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance efficiency.
- Prepare and present regular reports on quality performance to management.
Supplier Quality Management:
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards and implement supplier quality control programs.
- Evaluate supplier performance and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall product or service quality.
- Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize processes and reduce defects.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and update quality control processes accordingly.
Customer Complaint Resolution:
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to quality issues.
- Implement measures to prevent recurrence of quality-related customer issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, quality management).
- Proven experience in quality control, preferably in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, methodologies, and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Manager of
- Quality/Organizational Excellence) is a plus.
