- Wigwe University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Relations Officer (PRO) to join our team.
- This role is crucial in shaping the university’s public image, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring effective communication across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic communication plans to enhance the university’s reputation.
- Manage media relations, including press releases, interviews, and public statements.
- Oversee internal and external communications, ensuring clarity and consistency.
- Coordinate events, conferences, and community engagement initiatives.
- Monitor public perception and advise leadership on PR strategies.
- Manage the university’s social media presence and digital communications.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
- At least five (5) years of proven experience in public relations, communications, or a similar role.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage crisis communication and handle sensitive issues professionally.
- Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- A resident of Rivers State would be ideal.
