Project Officer

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure teams work together to deliver quality work to strict deadlines.
  • Monitoring construction processes, and providing training and team-building sessions are required.
  • Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Performing equipment, material, and routine site inspections.
  • Scheduling regular meetings with vendors, site inspectors, managers, and staff.
  • Writing up reports, budgets, project plans, and presenting them to relevant stakeholders.
  • Working closely with architects and other professionals.
  • Staying up-to-date with safety codes and advancements in construction.
  • Processing paperwork and traveling to multiple sitesasrequired.
  • Manages sub-contractors by locating, evaluating, and selecting sub-contractors; monitoring and controlling performance.
  • Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements.
  • Meets construction budget by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions; providing non-project annual operating and capital budget information.
  • Prevents fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
  • Accomplishes construction project results by defining project purpose and scope; calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; and evaluating and implementing change orders.
  • Approves construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases; and obtaining approvalsfrombuyers.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least three years as Project Manager or Site Supervisor.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will be added advantage.
