Job Summary
- As the PHE Teacher at our school, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the physical and health education of our students. Your responsibilities will include delivering a dynamic curriculum that promotes fitness, sportsmanship, and well-being while fostering a passion for physical activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive PHE curriculum in line with educational standards and grade-level objectives.
- Physical Education Instruction: Conduct engaging and age-appropriate classes covering exercises, sports, and games.
- Health Education: Educate students on healthy lifestyles, nutrition, personal hygiene, and safety practices.
- Student Assessment: Evaluate and record students’ progress in physical fitness and health education.
- Equipment Management: Maintain and organize sports equipment and facilities to ensure safety and functionality.
- Safety Protocols: Enforce safety measures to safeguard students during PHE classes and activities.
- Extracurricular Activities: Coordinate extracurricular sports teams, clubs, or competitions.
- Individualized Support: Provide additional assistance to students with special needs or requiring extra support.
- Parent Communication: Keep parents informed about student progress and address any concerns related to PHE.
- Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on teaching methodologies and educational trends.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Student Engagement: Assess student participation and enthusiasm in PHE classes.
- Physical Fitness Improvement: Measure students’ progress in physical fitness throughout the academic year.
- Health Knowledge: Evaluate students’ understanding of health-related topics.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety guidelines during PHE activities.
- Curriculum Alignment: Review the alignment of the PHE curriculum with educational standards.
- Professional Development: Monitor participation in relevant professional development activities.
- Parental Feedback: Gather feedback from parents on their satisfaction with PHE instruction.
- Extracurricular Success: Track student involvement and performance in extracurricular sports and activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or related field from an A’ list institution of higher learning.
- 5 – 8 years work experience.
- Teaching certification or licensure as per local requirements.
- Knowledge of age-appropriate physical fitness and health education.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
