Position Summary:

  • We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacologist to join our team at Lily Hospitals in Benin. The Pharmacologist will be responsible for conducting research, developing new drugs or improving existing medications, and ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals within our healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Development:

  • Conduct research to discover and develop new pharmaceutical compounds.
  • Test drugs for efficacy, safety, and potential side effects.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals and researchers to advance pharmacological knowledge and treatments.

Drug Formulation and Optimization:

  • Develop formulations for new drugs and optimize existing drug formulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate drug stability and shelf-life.

Clinical Pharmacology:

  • Conduct clinical trials to assess drug effectiveness and safety.
  • Analyze and interpret data from clinical trials to inform drug development and usage.

Drug Regulation and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines for drug development and usage.
  • Stay updated with current pharmacological trends, regulations, and best practices.

Patient Care and Education:

  • Provide expertise and guidance to healthcare professionals regarding drug selection, dosing, and interactions.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on the safe and effective use of medications.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and researchers.
  • Communicate research findings, drug recommendations, and regulatory updates effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacology or related field; 
  • Proven experience in pharmacological research and drug development.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacological principles, drug interactions, and clinical trial methodologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in pharmaceuticals.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
