Nutrition Assistant
Job Summary:
- The position holder will be responsible to Oversees IYCF, MIYCN and IMMAP in Damboa
Duties and Responsibility
- Create awareness and sensitize community on CMAM practices, IYCF, malnutrition and causes treatment of Malnutrition.
- Participate in the screening of children 6-59 months, referral and follow up of malnourished children at community level
- Carry out sensitization activities for targeted communities about CMAM, IYCF with support from MOH, community leaders and other key stakeholders
- Ensure timely submission of weekly reports, monthly report and MUAC screening and data report to nutrition officer for compilation
- Organized and lead the formation of mother to mother and father to father support group for IYCF with the support of the Nutrition Officer.
- Conduct education sessions within the community on the importance of infant and young child feeding issues as and when they arise.
- Conduct Tom Brown preparation sessions with lead mothers and caregivers alongside CNMs.
- Conduct regular focus group discussion
Requirement:
- Degree in Public health or relevant
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Implementation of Nutrition intervention programs.
- Experience in community Management of Acute Malnutrition and key IYCF practices
- Knowledge of nutritional surveillance and information system
- Proven ability and express in planning and conducting training on Nutrition
- Strong report writing and computer skills
- Must be an Indigene of Damboa
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Hausa, Kanuri and other language will be an added asset.
