Job Objective:
- The role of the Managing Director is pivotal in shaping the future of our client’s organization and the stakeholders it serves.
- The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team and provide strategic direction, leadership, and management of the organization.
- The core aim is to work collaboratively with the stakeholders to drive our client’s growth, expansion, and attainment of both its immediate and long-term goals, in alignment with the organization’s overall strategic direction.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the execution of the strategy of the organization in alignment with it’s vision, mission, and core values.
- Foster positive relationships with microfinance and agricultural institutions, regulators, partners, and stakeholders, both nationally and internationally, to enhance the Centre’s impact and relevance.
- Lead initiatives to develop and maintain world-class curriculum offerings that address the specific training needs of microfinance institutions and practitioners as well as the agribusiness ecosystem.
- Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation to assure the Centre’s financial sustainability and growth.
- Mentor, motivate, and empower the team members to achieve their fullest potential in support of the organization’s vision.
- Provide regular reports to the Board of Directors, sharing key performance indicators, progress toward strategic objectives, and any emerging challenges or opportunities.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and maintain strong relationships to stay updated on changes and requirements.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory guidelines and industry standards.
- Perform all other functions assigned by the Board, its Committees, and other organs of the organization.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any of the social sciences or related disciplines; an MBA is added advantage.
- Proven experience with a minimum of 10-12 years in senior management/ c-suites level within the microfinance, agriculture, or related fields.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders, especially c- suite executives.
- Financial acumen and budget management skills.
- Strong understanding of the microfinance banking services, regulations, and professional standards.
- Good knowledge of the agricultural ecosystem.
- Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and lead organizational change.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Excellent organizational, managerial, and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to the principles of social responsibility, sustainability, and community development.
