- A plastics manufacturing company in Lagos is recruiting for the role of Maintenance Engineer who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the production machinery and equipment.
- The primary responsibility will be to provide technical expertise and oversight to the maintenance operations, focusing on safety, productivity, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production machinery and equipment.
- Implement a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
- Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions, addressing issues promptly to minimize production disruptions.
- Collaborate with the production team to optimize machinery performance and efficiency.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, identifying and resolving potential hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and inventory levels.
- Create reports on equipment performance and maintenance metrics.
- Train and mentor maintenance technicians, ensuring they adhere to best practices and safety protocols.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and waste minimization within the maintenance department.
- Implement innovative solutions to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Experience in Production of Plastic injection mould machines and Maintenance of HAITAN machines.
- Experience in maintaining Recycling machines like:
- Washing line – Grace Machine
- Extrusion line – Grace and Technova Machine
- Fitter line – Grace Machine
- Grinding Machine
- Lead the integration of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies into maintenance operations, aiming to enhance efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Identify opportunities for waste reduction, cost savings, and process improvement using Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to define, prioritize, and execute improvement projects, applying the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach.
- Implement statistical process control (SPC) and other relevant Six Sigma tools to monitor and analyze maintenance processes, identifying root causes of issues and implementing corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- COREN certification is compulsory.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control processes.
