Description
Order Processing and Documentation:
- Receive and process transportation orders from clients.
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documents, including invoices, bills of lading, and delivery receipts.
Route Planning and Optimization:
- Assist in planning and optimizing transportation routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Coordinate with drivers and dispatchers to ensure timely deliveries.
Fleet Management:
- Maintain records of the company’s fleet, including vehicle inspection reports, maintenance schedules, and registration documents.
- Monitor vehicle fuel consumption, mileage, and maintenance expenses.
Inventory Management:
- Keep track of inventory levels and assist in maintaining optimal stock levels to meet customer demands.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure timely loading and unloading of goods.
Customer Service:
- Communicate with clients to provide updates on shipment status, address inquiries, and resolve any issues or complaints.
- Liaise with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
Compliance and Regulation:
- Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements related to transportation and logistics.
- Ensure that all shipments adhere to legal and safety standards.
Data Entry and Reporting:
- Input and maintain accurate records of shipments, including details like product descriptions, quantities, and delivery addresses.
- Generate reports for management, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates and cost metrics.
Problem Solving:
- Handle unexpected situations such as delays, disruptions, or damaged goods, and work towards finding solutions.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve logistical issues.
Technology Utilization:
- Use logistics software and tools to track shipments, monitor vehicle locations, and generate reports.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software is often required.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all logistics-related activities, including contracts, invoices, and receipts.
Cost Control and Budgeting:
- Assist in monitoring and controlling logistics-related expenses to ensure operations stay within budget.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures, such as optimizing routes or negotiating better rates with carriers.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the logistics operations.
- Propose and implement changes to enhance overall performance.
Safety and Risk Management:

Requirements
