Legal Officer
As a Legal Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring legal compliance, managing contracts, and providing legal support to various departments. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of industry/sector regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations affecting the company.
- Monitor and assess the organization’s compliance with legal standards and industry regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Work closely with various departments to ensure contracts align with business objectives and comply with legal requirements.
- Maintain a centralized repository for all legal documents.
- Provide legal guidance to internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal issues.
- Conduct legal research to support decision-making and problem-solving.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel as necessary.
- Identify potential legal risks and propose strategies to mitigate them.
- Assist in the development and implementation of risk management programs.
- Conduct periodic legal audits to assess and address potential risks.
- Manage and oversee legal disputes, including liaising with external counsel.
- Provide support in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- Admission to the Bar is an advantage.
- Years of experience as a Legal Officer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of industry/sector regulations and legal principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
