Lead, Settlement
Job Summary:
- As a Lead, Settlement, you will take on a pivotal role in overseeing the accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions.
- Your responsibilities include supervising settlement operations, ensuring seamless reconciliation of accounts, and promptly addressing exceptions.

Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of settlement professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance and productivity.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes effective communication and teamwork.
Settlement Operations:
- Oversee the review of settlement reports, upload of settlement reports, generation of settlement entries associated with our payment gateway and platforms
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of settlements
- Monitor and manage failed settlements, taking appropriate action to resolve discrepancies
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to settlement operations.
- Ensure the organization’s settlement processes comply with all relevant regulations and requirements.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously review and enhance settlement processes to optimize efficiency and minimize operational risks.
- Implement robust controls and checks to reduce settlement errors and mitigate settlement-related risks.
Vendor and Counterparty Relationship Management:
- Collaborate with external vendors, depositories, and counterparty institutions to ensure smooth and efficient settlement processes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the settlement ecosystem.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess settlement-related risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Develop and maintain a robust disaster recovery and business continuity plan for settlement operations.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Degree from a reputable institution.
- 4-5 years of post NYSC experience with 2-4 in a settlement and reconciliation role, showcasing a deep understanding of financial operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of payment industry transaction dynamics.
- Proficiency in handling extensive datasets with a keen eye for accuracy.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- A thorough understanding of reconciliation processes and best practices.
