Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

  • You will work on-site to manage the cost of projects by ensuring that costs are kept within the budget, by using cost-effective methods while still meeting all quality and safety requirements.
  • You will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing cost estimates, and planning and reviewing cost reports throughout the project cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors. Analyze project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost-saving measures.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for construction projects, tracking costs and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle. Provide regular financial reports to project stakeholders.
  • Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts, ensuring that both parties adhere to contractual obligations. Handle variations and claims, resolving disputes in a fair and timely manner.
  • Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to identify opportunities for value engineering, proposing cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks related to cost and provide strategies for risk mitigation. Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
  • Cost Monitoring: Monitor project costs against budget, identifying and addressing any deviations. Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and validate costs.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess HND / B.Sc Degrees in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related fields with 2 – 4 years relevant work experience.
  • Cost Control, Cost Planning, and Cost Management skills.
  • Experience in creating Bills of Quantities (BoQ)
  • Cost Reporting skills
  • Knowledge of construction regulations and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Professional certification in Quantity Surveying or related field is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Description

  • This is a full-time on-site role for a Structural Engineer with daily tasks that include calculations, structural analysis, structural engineering, and computer-aided design (CAD) of buildings and other structures.
  • The Structural Engineer will provide guidance on design optimization, load analysis, and engineering modifications. This role is located in Lekki.

  • Knowledge of Engineering codes and standards.
  • Experience with building information modelling (BIM) software is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, communicator and problem-solving skills.
  • A minimum of HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Must reside on the Island.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Structural Engineering or a related field.
