- Our client, is a boutique Investment Bank, Issuing House and Capital Market Operator registered and regulated by the Securities and Exchange and is looking to Hire a Senior Legal Officer with 5-7 years experience to support with proactively identifying legal risk & potential legal risks in the firms’ transactions and operations.
Other functions include:
- Ensuring training on legal risk management for the wider business
- Providing advice to the Board/Management across range of business interests, regulatory responsibilities, risks and obligations.
- Drafting, negotiating and executing contract agreements
- Review contracts and other legal agreements
- Responsible for legal and regulatory compliance issues of the Company
- Provides legal support to all the business units of the Company – investment banking and the company’s governance
- Handles company secretariat
- Researches legal issues and recommends revision as necessary
- Performs miscellaneous job- related duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
- The ideal candidate must have obtained at least a Second Class Upper Degree in Law at both University and the Nigerian Law School.
- 5-7 years relevant experience.
- Goods knowledge and use of Microsoft Office packages & ERP systems (Knowledge of Navision& SharePoint will be an added advantage)
- Evidence of past research conducted or contributed tools;
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken skills).
- Adept at problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- A degree in a related field

Our client, is a boutique Investment Bank, Issuing House and Capital Market Operator registered and regulated by the Securities and Exchange. We are looking to employ a MD, asset management who will be responsible for leading the investment and asset management team having responsibility for determining investment strategy for various Fund portfolios. The right fit for the role must have an excellent understanding of financial markets and different asset classes and understand people management with result orientation.
This role reports directly to the Board and responsibilities include:
- Establish company strategic goals and objectives
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the achievement of the company’s profitability and growth targets as approved by the Board and consistently meet Key Performance Indicators.
- Maintain awareness of the competitive market landscape, expansion opportunities and industry developments.
- Prepare and lead the execution of the corporate, business and functional strategy, and monitor progress against these plans to ensure that the Bank achieves its objectives as cost effectively and efficiently as possible.
- Develop and implement initiatives/interventions as required to increase revenue and/or reduce operating costs.
- Ensure consistent quarterly and annual reporting of financial and non-financial performance to system regulators and shareholders.
- Review performance reports on both financial and non-financial indicators (performance against plan) and determine required actions for any performance deviations.
- Ensure that appropriate processes and procedures are in place for delivering the goals, objectives and mandate.
- Maintain effective relationship with top-level officers of relevant regulatory agencies and other major stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and behaves in a socially responsible manner.
- Develop products to meet clients’ needs and win market share
- Develop a business growth/expansion plans and strategies
- Develop a workable business model and align company strategic goals with the Group goals
- Advise the board of directors on strategic issues
- Present reports on the company’s business and performance to the board
- Build and strong corporate brand, business and regulatory relationships.
- Effectively liaise with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders, including professional bodies
- Ensure compliance with Company/Group policies, market and professional rules and guidelines
- Drives the budget of the Company, oversees business origination and sales, and Reports to the Group CEOs
- Any other task assigned at the Group level.
The ideal candidate is one with the following non-negotiable characteristics:
- MBA, or any related professional certification. Member of relevant professional body/affiliations such as CIBN (ACIB, MCIB), ICAN (ACA), ACCA, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in any social sciences or related field
- Proven microfinance experience and prior C-suite experience is required.
- Minimum of 12-15 years senior management experience within the financial services industry.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of the banking industry, particularly microfinance banking services, regulations, and professional standards.
- Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and lead organizational change.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Excellent organizational, managerial, and decision-making skills.
