Business Development Officer

Job Objective and Summary

  • Develops and implements strategies to ensure onboarding of new customers and maintain excellent day-to-day relationships to achieve organizational goals.
  • The principal objective of the role is client relationship management, business development, client acquisition, market analysis, risk monitoring and mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and develops relationships with MSMEs and others for business growth.
  • Manages information flow between client and the company
  • Monitors and reports on the performance of all loans, schemes and investments managed for the company against monthly/quarterly/annual plans.
  • Responsible for achieving business development targets for a segment of the market
  • Stays abreast of recent market trends, identifies market opportunities and develops customer relevant propositions that drive key measures such as market share, revenue, profit and brand health.
  • Works with management in developing timely solutions for client requirements.
  • Conducts business reviews with clients on periodic basis.
  • Contacts and follows-up on prospects for new opportunities.
  • Addresses customer issues/concerns in accurate and timely manner.
  • Provides business advice and consultancy to clients in an effective manner.
  • Maintains strong knowledge of company’s products, pricing, policies etc., so as to educate clients on benefits
  • Identifies present and future business development opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Maintains security and confidentiality of client information.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Contribution to company’s’ PBT
  • Non-Performing Loan Ratio
  • Volume of new loans disbursed to clients
  • Number of new clients onboarded/disbursed to
  • Total number of clients disbursed to within the year
  • Number of jobs created
  • Gender Empowerment (percentage of total MSMEs impacted that are female-owned)
  • Youth Empowerment (percentage of total MSMEs impacted that are owned by Youth – aged 40 years and below)
  • Number of errors detected on the Activity Reports to Management
  • Promptness in submitting acceptable monthly report
  • Rate of non-compliance with operational guidelines observed by auditors/verifiers
  • Number of complaints from clients
  • Number of administrative lapses observed
  • Quality of reports produced.

Qualifications

  • An OND, HND, Bachelor’s Degree with up to 2 years’ experience working with an MFB on Lagos Island.

Competencies:

  • Good working knowledge of financial procedures and applications
  • Understanding of lending practice and related policy issues, their implications and applications
  • Knowledge of credit administration, operations and management
  • Knowledge of risk management.

Technical Competencies:

  • Meeting Facilitation skills
  • Application of P/C productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communications Skills
  • Excellent organisational and Coordination skills
  • Expertise in credit administration/ supervision
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Expertise in credit analysis and appraisal
  • Expertise in loans administration / account management.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc in Biological Sciences from a reputable institution
  • 1-2 years of marketing experience in Marketing Medical products or services.
  • Preferably female.
