Job Summary 

Our client is looking for a Head of Strategic Partnerships to develop and manage relationships with external partners to help drive revenue and expand the company’s reach. This role requires someone who is a strategic mission-driven and impact obsessed self-starter with intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn about a range of issues quickly. The ideal candidate will also be passionate about technology and sustainability solutions that can be applied in the African context.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop an overarching partnerships strategy, framework and implementation plan for sourcing, engaging and managing strategic relationships.
  • Create a systematic, process-driven approach to partner engagement, relationship management and continuously capture knowledge and understanding about our strategic partners.
  • Work with the CEO and senior leadership team to identify current high-priority partners for individual initiatives and projects.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the market and industry trends.
  • Identify partners to support the execution of company’s goals and objectives with the goal of securing mutually-beneficial partnership agreements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure partnerships are implemented and delivered as agreed.
  • Forecast, measure, and report the results of various projects and initiatives with partners, including co-created and/or co-sponsored initiatives, and/or event partnerships.
  • Lead reporting activities for the company’s impact performance, including monitoring and evaluation.
  • Develop relevant partnership communications aligning company’s goals and objectives to partners’ focus.
  • Coordinate and lead on proposal submission as required, including joint development of budget with the Finance team.
  • Understanding of financial metrics, ability to evaluate the financial impact of partnerships and make data-driven decisions.
  • Coordinate and lead on partnership report submission as required.
  • Work with the internal Marketing and Communications team to develop and update external facing communication content.
  • Deliver a great experience to our partners when working with our company – you will represent our brand and be our partners’ liaison internally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor (Master’s a plus) degree in relevant field
  • 5+ years of experience in institutional fundraising and corporate partnerships in sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, climate, and education.
  • Strong understanding of funder goals, objectives, requirements and procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience of responding to funding calls from funders and developing funding relationships with private and corporate foundations.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining partnerships with organizations to collaborate on project ideas.
  • Business development pro with strong relationship building skills.
  • Builds networks and makes connections in relevant industries.
  • Goal-oriented, dependable, and understands Câm’s mission.
  • Grasps complex issues and sees the value of partnerships.

Job summary:

As a gender specialist you will play a key role in promoting gender equality and social inclusion within the organisation. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct gender analysis and assessments to identify gender disparities, inequalities and opportunities for promoting gender equality within our organizations’ program and projects..
  • Collaborate with program teams to integrate gender considerations into project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Advocate for gender responsive policies, practices and programming both internally and externally.
  • Support the collection and analysis of gender-disaggregated data to track progress towards gender equality goals and outcomes.
  • Facilitate workshops, seminars and learning sessions to promote awareness and understanding of gender issues and promote gender sensitive practices.
  • Develop and implement gender sensitive monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track progress towards gender equality goals and outcomes.
  • Provide training, mentorship and capacity-building support to staff, partners and stakeholders on gender equality concepts, principles, tools and methodologies.
  • Stay up to date with current trends, best practices, and emerging issues in gender equality.
  • Provide regular reports on gender-related indicators and recommend corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in gender studies, women’s studies, sociology, international development, or a related field required.
  • Experience working as a Gender Specialist or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of gender equality and women’s rights issues, including in-depth knowledge of gender analysis methodologies, gender mainstreaming, and gender-responsive programming.
  • Experience heading task teams to deliver client deliverables, including research, assessments, and training.
  • Proficiency in project management, including the ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor gender-focused initiatives.
  • Experience presenting technical content or thought stewardship to external audiences, such as through conference presentations, workshops, webinars, white papers, or journal articles required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and collaborative tools such as GSuite and Slack
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders effectively and facilitate discussions on sensitive gender topics.
