Job Description
- As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation of a stable, secure systems infrastructure.
- You will support in the development of the projects (hardware, software and/or solutions-based) and contribute to the delivery of outstanding IT service.
Key Responsibilities for the Role
- Providing project and systems support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence, over the phone, via remote access and in person.
- Contribute to team discussions to help shape and further improve the service.
- Administer and support core Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, Cloud, and virtualization technologies.
- Engage in the evaluation, implementation, configuration and testing of new servers, products and services.
- Assist with additional configuration, integration, and improvements to existing IT services.
- Assist with the deployment of OS and application updates to Windows clients, including pre- deployment research and testing.
- Assist with server backup monitoring and verification.
- Assist in the patching and updating of allocated Windows and Linux server systems, Adobe Update, Security Updates, Firm ware updates etc.
- Assist with deploying new equipment, software and solutions (and repurposing of existing equipment) for Infrastructure Projects.
Requirements for the Role
- University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Master’s degree from a recognized University will be an advantage.
- Member of professional associations in CompTIA Network+, Microsoft and Linux
- Professional IT Certifications such as, MCS, Red Hat is an added advantage
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in Server infrastructure design, implementation, and management. Experience in designing and implementing IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, cloud, networks, storage systems, and virtualization platforms.
- Proficiency in managing and maintaining server operating systems, such as Windows Server or Linux, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- An understanding of LAN/WAN networking.
- Hand on Experience with cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including infrastructure deployment, migration, and management.

Requirements
