Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the structural engineering team, including mentoring and coaching staff to achieve project goals.
- Manage the planning, design, and construction phases of structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans in collaboration with project stakeholders.
- Review and approve structural designs, calculations, and drawings to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other project team members to resolve design issues, address construction challenges, and facilitate project progress.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction activities, assess structural integrity, and ensure compliance with design plans and safety standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, innovation, and cost-saving initiatives within the structural engineering department.
- Stay current with advancements in structural engineering technologies, materials, and methodologies, and incorporate best practices into project designs.
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to address concerns, provide project updates, and ensure satisfaction with project outcomes.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop strategies for project delivery, risk management, and quality assurance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of managing complex projects from conception to completion.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Thorough understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to structural engineering.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with diverse project teams and collaborating effectively with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.

- Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- PMP or CAPM certification is a plus.
