Procurement Officer

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring stock levels and identifying purchasing needs
  • Researching potential vendors
  • Tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery
  • Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
  • Conduct market research to identify pricing trends
  • Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
  • Prepare cost analyses
  • Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
  • Retirement of all purchased items to account.
  • Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
  • Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
  • Requisition and Purchase of cooking gas

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • BSc in Logistics, Business Administration or relevant fi

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • About 3-4years’ work experience in hospitality or related field.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Work experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer or similar role
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • knowledge of MS Excel
  • Knowledge of market research
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Attention to details.

Method of Application

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keep Track of all payments and expenditures, including Payroll, Purchase order, invoices, statements etc.
  • Oversees all finance and accounting books and records.
  • Assemble, review and verify invoices and check requests.
  • Prepare invoices up for payment.
  • Enter and upload invoices into Sage
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
  • Post transactions and other records on Sage
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Maintain vendor files.
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
  • Processing incoming invoices and paying the business suppliers.
  • Ensure update schedule of PAYE, Pension and other statutory regulators (NSITF, ITF, and PENCOM).
  • Other duties that may be assigned by the management.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • A bachelor’s degree in ACCOUNTING

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 4 years professional experience in similar role.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proven work experience as a Finance Officer or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
  • Experience using accounting software, such as Xero
  • Knowledge of financial regulations
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft word, Excel and Power Point
