Job Overview

  • The HR Manager for the Sugar Cane Plantation will play a pivotal role in overseeing human resources functions across the estate, factory, and farm operations.
  • This position requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of the agricultural and manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition and Recruitment:

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract skilled and qualified candidates for various roles within the plantation.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and ensure timely hiring to meet operational requirements.

Employee Relations:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution strategies.
  • Address employee concerns and grievances promptly, promoting a culture of fairness and respect.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to implement training programs that enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training initiatives and adjust as necessary.

Performance Management:

  • Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee performance and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Work with department heads to develop improvement plans and provide guidance on employee development.

Labor Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of local labor laws and regulations, ensuring that the plantation remains compliant with all legal requirements.
  • Provide guidance on labor relations, union matters, and collective bargaining agreements.

Health and Safety:

  • Collaborate with safety officers to establish and enforce safety protocols across the plantation.
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety awareness.

Employee Welfare:

  • Administer employee benefits programs and ensure the well-being of employees in terms of health, housing, and other welfare initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and other relevant service providers.

HR Administration:

  • Oversee HR administrative tasks such as payroll processing, attendance management, and maintaining employee records.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of reports to senior management.

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior management to align HR strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Must have 0-10 years experience
  • Proven experience in HR management, preferably in an agricultural or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
