- We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Motor Vehicle Electrician to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and repair of our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles.
Job Summary
- The Heavy Motor Vehicle Electrician will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems and components in heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of automotive electrical systems and be adept at troubleshooting and solving complex electrical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and troubleshoot electrical systems in heavy motor vehicles, including trucks, buses, and specialized vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair faults in lighting, starting, charging, and other electrical systems.
- Install, repair, and maintain electronic systems, such as GPS, communication devices, and entertainment systems.
- Test and replace electrical components, such as alternators, starters, and batteries.
- Interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals to identify and resolve electrical problems.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to ensure integrated and effective solutions.
- Keep accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical school program in automotive electrical systems is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Heavy Motor Vehicle Electrician.
- Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle electrical systems and components.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical fitness and stamina for working in a demanding, hands-on environment.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification in Electrical Systems.
- Familiarity with hybrid or electric heavy-duty vehicles.
