Head of Human Resources & Administration

About the Role:

The Head of Human Resources & Administration will be pivotal in leading the Human Resources Department and overseeing key administrative functions. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive HR strategies, fostering a positive and productive work environment, and ensuring our company operates efficiently and compliantly.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resource Management:

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labour laws and best practices.
  • Oversee all employee lifecycle aspects, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, compensation & benefits, and employee relations.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and recommend promotions and terminations.
  • Manage employee records and ensure data accuracy.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment for all employees.

Administration and Operations:

  • Provide administrative planning and support to ensure the smooth running of the company.
  • Oversee office operations, including procurement, logistics, facilities management, and travel arrangements.
  • Implement systems and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure company compliance with relevant regulations.

Turnaround & Growth Initiatives:

  • Develop and implement a training program for all employees to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively with department heads to optimise manpower allocation and drive project delivery.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures to improve the company’s financial performance.
  • Develop strategies to improve employee morale, engagement, and retention.

Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related courses from a reputable higher institution.
  • Master’s degree from a recognised higher institution in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Relevant further degrees or professional qualifications such as HRPL, PHRI, SPHRI and GPHR. are advantageous.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior HR leadership role.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian labour laws and employment regulations.
  • Ability to align human resources strategies to the organisation’s goals.
  • Ability to strategically position the oragnisation to attract and retain valuable talents.
  • Strong understanding of the Real Estate industry and business.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficient in HR software and administrative tools (e.g., ERP systems).
  • A discreet and diplomatic demeanour.
