Furniture Production Manager
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Estimate production costs and set production budgets
- Manage production budgets and Implement cost control programs
- Plan a production schedule for the job and ensure Implementation and control the production schedule
- Review and adjust the schedule where needed
- Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management
- Determine the human and material resources required
- Manage human and material resources to meet production targets
- Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement when required
- Work out and implement standard operating procedures for production operations
- Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to
- Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures
- Set and Monitor product quality standards
- Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives and timelines
- Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems
- Determine and implement improvements to the production process
Required Skill/ Education:
- OND/HND/Degree in woodworking, Architecture or any other related discipline
- 3-4 years’ relevant experience in furniture manufacturing with project management skill is a must.
- Knowledge of business, finance or management principles would be a plus
- Knowledge of raw materials and quality systems and standards
- knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance
- knowledge of machines and tools would be an advantage
- Ability to direct personnel towards maximum performance will set you apart as a leader
- Decision-making and problem-solving will take up a great part of your day
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP software will be preferred
- Prepare and maintain production reports
- Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement
