FSO Lead Operator
Job Description
- The Lead Operator is an experienced Operator responsible for directing the activities of the Control Room Operator and the Feild Operators working closely with the Cargo Supervisor – monitoring of the processes, operations, heading and stability of the FSO to ensure safe operations and vessel integrity at all times.
- This involves loading, storage and ballasting operations in accordance with pre-arranged plans and safe operating practices; recognizing anomalies and performing corrective action as necessary including notifying the necessary parties such as the Field Operator, FSO Cargo Supervisor and/or external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Other responsibilities includes:
- Shall monitor the Control room Operator to carry out safe LPG Loading, Storage, Transfer and ballasting operations to ensure positive stability and safe trim conditions are maintained at all times.
- He is responsible to the Cargo Supervisor for ensuring readiness for LPG Offloading by ensuring applicable pre-offloading operational checks and line are completed in a timely manner.
- Shall provide guidance and support to the Control room and feild Operator in responding to all alarms and Emergency Shut Down from the ESD and Fire and Gas system.
- Recognizing and understanding Stability Data and the corrective actions for recovery from any deviations to the normal mode of operation.
- Monitoring/controlling mooring and unmooring operations.
- Ensuring cargo discharge, loading and ballast operations are carried out safely in accordance with the pre-determined plans.
- Maintaining effective communications (both internal and external) between the shuttle tanker, the FSO, Escravos Gas Plant and other stakeholders in the absence of the Control room Operator.
