Job Overview
- We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team.
- As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all financial transactions and providing accurate financial information to support the organization’s operations.
- Your role will involve monitoring financial data, preparing financial statements, analyzing trends, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Producing an accurate set of month-end accounts, with comparisons to forecasts and previous periods.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Assisting in preparing budgets and business planning, including projected room revenue
- Review and reconcile bank statements on a regular basis.
- Ensuring legislation is followed regarding Consumption tax, WHT, VAT and PAYE
- Chasing late payments, reporting bad debts, and keeping a careful eye on the cash flow
- Coordinating stock control operations with warehouse staff, as well as the sales and finance departments.
- Analyzing supply chain data to ensure the uninterrupted availability of stock.
- Forecasting supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock (OOS).
- Performing regular inventory audits and keeping stock purchasing within budget.
- Assist in the coordination of external audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
Requirements
- BSc, OND or HND in Accounting, Finance or Economics (ICAN or ACCA certification is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations (GAAP).
- Proficiency in using accounting software (Zoho, QuickBooks or similar).
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel.
