Finance and Administration Officer
Purpose
- To provide financial and operational support to Management.
- Manage company administrative tasks
- To execute daily tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Duties & Responsibilities
Essential duties/key job roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Finance
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to procedural and generally accepted accounting standards and principles
- Prepare Bank reconciliation statement
- Posting to ledgers and reconciling sub-ledger to General ledger
- Prepare bank, receipt, and journal vouchers
- Update fixed assets register for each addition of assets and prepare depreciation on each asset.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
- Reviewing, implementing, and adopting new and existing financial systems and controls.
- Producing and analyzing annual and monthly accounts.
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing monthly reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Preparation of documents for audits and financial inspections
Admin
- Coordinate travel arrangements, meetings, and appointments
- Attend meetings and record notes and messages for management
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and communication.
- Maintain an organized filing system for documents and records.
- Assist with human resource functions, such as onboarding and record-keeping.
- Support management with general administrative tasks as needed.
- Stay updated on relevant administrative laws and regulations.
Key Performance Indicators
- Proper financial recording in the appropriate books with no discrepancies
- Timely weekly budgeting and fulfillment of operational funding requirements.
- Cost control for the company.
- Proper inventory management
Requirements/Education
- B.Sc. Accounting or related course
- Relevant Working Experience including audit/accounting services firm experience.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
- Required Certification(s): ICAN, ACCA an added advantage.

- Good technical proficiency in core accounting.
- Conversant with financial / accounting regulations of state and federal laws.
- Basic understanding of service delivery workflow and business processes.
- Knowledge & and experience of Bank Reconciliation.
- Good interpersonal skills
- A high level of oral and written communication skills.
- Flexible in approach and be comfortable with a fluid organizational structure that requires both teamwork and self-sufficiency as necessary, with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
