Entertainment Show Host / Content Creator
We are looking for an experienced television presenter to become the head of a programme we will launch on entertainment. This will be around educational entertainment content about Nigeria, Africa, and the world.
The ideal candidate must be well-read and knowledgeable about the entertainment industry, geography, geopolitics, and general knowledge of the world.
You must be qualified, willing to come to work Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and a team player, hardworking, and polite. You will not be hired with a fake foreign accent. We need authentic, dark-skinned Nigerians with a Nigerian accent but flawless command of the English language. An additional language would be a bonus, especially Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Swahili, Fula, Arabic, or other major African languages. We do not speak European languages; we are African, and we live in Africa.
Responsibility:
- Researching the entertainment industry and sieving the ones that sit with our values and audienceĀ
- Creating or developing organic content
- Inviting guests and hosting entertainment talk shows or any other entertainment-related shows
- Touching the unspoken lives of celebrities
- Regularly monitor our social media platforms and identify where action needs to be taken.
- Join the team on Fridays at noon for our live YouTube dialogue on the top ten news making headlines worldwide in the last seven days.
- Going out occasionally for vox pop without camera team to bring back exciting content for our social media platforms
- Be a good writer/researcher to aid the rest of the team with stories and content for programmes other than yours.
Ideal Candidate:
Qualification – The perfect fit for this job role is expected to have the following skills:
- MUST be irreligious.
- Rooted in pop culture, most of your content will be centred on this.
- Understand our audience and create content that will glue them to our platform.
- Producing organic content that will align with our values.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be camera friendly.
- Have a deep and vast knowledge of the entertainment industry and trending news in and outside Nigeria.
- Ability to host entertainment shows, on and off camera.
- Capacity to invite guests and celebrities to feature in the shows.
- Team spirit, as you would in some cases, work hand-in-hand with other team members.
