Driving School Instructor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct both classroom and behind-the-wheel driving lessons for students of varying skill levels.
  • Teach essential driving skills, including vehicle control, defensive driving techniques, parking, and highway driving.
  • Instruct students on traffic laws, road signs, and proper driving etiquette.
  • Ensure the safety of students during all driving lessons by maintaining control of the vehicle and providing clear, precise instructions.
  • Conduct pre-drive inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
  • Educate students on the importance of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
  • Evaluate students’ driving skills and progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help them improve.
  • Administer and grade written and practical driving tests to assess students’ knowledge and abilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ performance and progress.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing students’ questions, concerns, and feedback.
  • Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment to help students feel comfortable and confident.
  • Schedule driving lessons, manage student appointments, and maintain a calendar of sessions.
  • Prepare and submit necessary paperwork, including student evaluations and progress reports.
  • Stay informed about changes in traffic laws and driving regulations to ensure up-to-date instruction.
  • Ensure instructional vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and equipped with necessary safety features.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance issues or incidents promptly to management.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Certification as a driving instructor (if required by state or local regulations).
  • Minimum of 4 years of driving experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of traffic laws, road signs, and safe driving practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
