Job description: The National Obstetric Fistula Centre in Babbar-Ruga, Katsina, is a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Health focused on the repair and management of women and girls suffering from obstetric fistula, and it’s part of efforts to address the backlog of fistula patients.Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:Job Position: Director of Administration
Job Location: Babbar-Ruga, KatsinaResponsibilities
- The Director of Administration shall be responsible to the Medical Director for day-to-day general administration of the Hospital.
- He shall be the Chief Administrative Advisor to the Medical Director and Secretary to the Board of management.
In addition, the Director of Administration shall:
- Take charge of the Department responsible for Administration
- Participate in formulation, execution and review of policies as directed by the Medical Director and/or the Board
- Coordinate the activities of support Departments in the Hospital
- Conduct the correspondences of the Board and keep records of the Hospital
- Perform such other functions as thee Board or medical Director, may from time to time assign to him/her.
Qualifications and Experience
- Candidate must possess a good First Degree in Humanities or Social Sciences, Hospital/Health Services Management from a recognized University
- Candidate must have not less than eighteen years post qualification experience in the Administrative Cadre in a government establishment
- Candidate must not be on less than Directorate Cadre in a government establishment
- Possession of master’s degree or any other relevant higher degree would be an added advantage.
- Fellow of the Association of Institute of Health Science Administrators of Nigeria (IHSAN) or any other relevant professional certificate is an added advantage
- Working experience in an Hospital is also an added advantage.
Salary and Condition of Service
- Salary and conditions of service shall be in accordance with the Public Service Salary Structure for this category of officers.
Tenure
- The Director of Administration shall hold office effective from the date of this publication inclusive of any period previously served as Director in any other organization in the public service, provided the officer does not attain the mandatory retirement age of sixty (60) years or thirty-five years of service (whichever comes first) and on such terms and conditions as specified in the letter of appointment.
