Design Architect
Job Responsibilities
- Architects furnishing plan, develop and implement furnishing designs.
- compiles feasibility reports and determine environmental impact
- create project proposals, estimate costs, determine timelines and oversee working processes.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to select appropriate materials, finishes, and hardware for each furniture design, considering cost, quality, and sustainability factors.
- Collaborate with the design team to conceptualize and develop new furniture designs that align with the company’s brand identity and market trends.
- Create detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and renderings to effectively communicate design concepts and specifications to the manufacturing team.
- Conduct research on emerging design trends, materials, and manufacturing processes to stay up-to-date with industry advancements and incorporate them into new furniture designs.
- Develop prototypes and mock-ups to test and validate design concepts, ensuring their feasibility and functionality.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure the smooth transition from design to manufacturing, providing guidance and technical support throughout the production process.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, industry standards, and regulations, considering factors such as ergonomics, structural integrity, and safety.
- Participate in design review meetings, providing valuable insights and feedback to improve designs and streamline the production process.
- Monitor and manage project timelines, ensuring that design deliverables are completed within established deadlines.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop visual materials, such as brochures, catalogues, and digital assets, to promote new furniture collections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
- 1 – 5 years’ work experience.
- Must have completed NYSC
- Proven experience in furniture design, preferably within the manufacturing industry is added advantage.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Rhino, Photoshop, InDesign, Vray, Corona, and other related architecture software/ tools for creating detailed technical drawings and 3D models.
- Strong aesthetic sensibility and a keen eye for detail, with the ability to balance form and function in design.
- Solid experience in Designing, Researching, and creating Presentation decks.
- Knowledge of materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes commonly used in furniture production.
- Familiarity with sustainability principles and a commitment to integrating sustainable practices into design processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey design concepts to cross-functional teams.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
