Compliance Officer
Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Compliance Officer to join our team. This role will oversee compliance across our healthcare, travel, resourcing, and training units both in the UK and Nigeria. This is a critical position in safeguarding our integrity and maintaining the highest standards of service across all our sectors. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all our UK contractual staff comply with the laws and regulations guiding the United Kingdom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all company operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards within the healthcare, travel, resourcing, and training sectors.
- UK Compliance: Ensure all UK contractual staff comply with the laws and regulations guiding the United Kingdom.
- Maintain and enforce compliance to the general do’s and don’ts (as contained in the staff handbook). Cleanliness, punctuality, cash collection limit, cash holding limit, cash movement to bank, security and safety of all company’s tangible and intangible assets, amidst others, are pivot areas in this regard.
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring and Auditing: Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to compliance standards and identify potential areas of risk across all units.
- Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess areas of potential compliance risk, developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Incident Management: Investigate compliance breaches and incidents, ensuring timely and appropriate responses and reporting.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of compliance activities, audits, and training sessions.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations, continuously improving the compliance program and ensuring proactive compliance practices.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports for senior management and regulatory bodies on the status of compliance activities and any issues identified.
- Cross-Unit Coordination: Ensure compliance across all UK and Nigerian operations in the travel, resourcing, training, and healthcare units.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Compliance Officer or in a similar role within the healthcare, travel, resourcing, or training sectors. Background experience in healthacre would be preferable.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and standards in the UK and Nigeria.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and educate staff on compliance matters.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using compliance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Relevant certification in compliance or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with compliance in multiple sectors is an asset.
