Company Accountant
Job Description
- Ensure the effective running of day-to-day activities of the Accounts/finance department
- Managing and overseeing the company’s financial systems
- Managing the financial reporting for the organization. This includes monthly financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and all statutory financial reporting
- Ensure that financial reports comply with the International Financial reporting standard (IFRS)
- Providing sound financial support and insights to enable the organization to make critical business decisions
- Review and monitoring of operation expenses.
- Presentation of financial results and insights
- Handling tax matters, tax planning and other regulatory complianceManaging the External Auditor relationship and ensuring the organization is compliant with accounting standards
- Managing and overseeing the company’s banking and borrowing arrangements
- Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Financial and Management Accounting functions.
- Advising and implementing best practice methods to increase revenue and reduce costs
- Managing and tracking budget and performance review
- Reviewing all formal finance policies and procedures
- Manage relationships with regulatory and statutory bodies, i.e. LIRS, FIRS, etc
- Keeping abreast of new development in reporting, tax and other regulatory requirement to ensure compliance
Qualification
- BSC/HND in Accounting or business related field
- Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA)
- Minimum of 8 years post qualification experience
Skills and Attribute
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office( word, excel, powerpoint) and accounting software such as quickbooks etc
- Must be conversant with domestic and international accounting reporting requirement
- Must be conversant with relevant tax law and principles
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Passionate about work and willing to learn
