Chief Finance Officer
Description
- The CFO will be responsible for the business financial strategy and the overall financial risks the business. CFO shall manage and lead financial initiatives of the business, oversee the finance team and aid on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to financial management, reporting, budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs, securing of new funding, treasury management, payroll and customer payment process for the organization.
Requirements
- Provide leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team.
- Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organization.
- Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows.
- Comply with national and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action.
- Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement.
- Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives.
- Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for earnings calls, management team, and rest of company.
- Identify, assess and manage financial risks that could impact the organization’s performance and objectives by ensuring the risk and compliance management framework is embedded and operational in the company.
- Manage finance team and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities.
- Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO/President and members of the executive management team.
- Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting. Analyze financial data, evaluate performance against targets and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Participate in strategic planning, evaluate investment opportunities, assess business performance and advise accordingly. Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial considerations are integrated into decision-making processes.
- Provide commercial insight and leadership across the business in order to exceed business plan targets.
