We are currently looking to engage a highly competent and result-oriented Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor (HVAC Systems) with strong personal & professional integrity to join our dynamic workforce.

Responsibilities

The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor (HVAC Systems) will be responsible for all installation, preventive and post-installation maintenance, repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units and associated air handling, chilled water distribution, and mechanical control systems.

The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor (HVAC Systems) is expected to;

  • Supervise major overhaul or installation of mechanical control systems to assure that work is carried out according to plans and specifications.
  • Review plans and specifications for new construction to determine compatibility with existing equipment or acceptability of design.
  • Inspect and measure building to determine airflow requirements; plans and draws layout and dimensions of ductwork.
  • Conduct a quality check of work in progress or upon completion to assure acceptability.
  • Schedule Preventative Maintenance and air conditioning installation assignments; examines installed air-conditioning systems to verify that system is functioning.
  •  Oversee repair and replacement of faulty thermostats, wiring and controls, and compressors.
  • Support current improvement programs as well as implement and drive through sustainment any new initiatives as they relate to transformation to reliability and condition-based maintenance.

Qualification & Experience

  • The candidate must have a minimum of bachelor’s degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of Six (6) years industrial mechanical maintenance and repair experience, two (2) years of which are in a lead role.
  • Considerable knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment.
  • Possess adept experience in the use of commercial natural gas, fired hydronic boilers, pumps, controls, and other ancillary equipment, chilled water HVAC systems, both constant volume and variable volume
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Knowledge of smaller systems designs or design modifications to larger systems.

We are currently looking to engage a highly competent and result-oriented Utility Manager with strong personal & professional integrity to join our dynamic workforce.

Responsibilities

The Utility Manager will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation and maintenance of utility systems within the university campus. This includes managing the campus’ electrical, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), water supply, and other utility systems..

He/she is expected to;

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of utility systems, including scheduling maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring uninterrupted service to campus facilities.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure the reliability and longevity of utility infrastructure, including preventive maintenance schedules and equipment inspections.
  • Continuously monitor utility systems performance and identify opportunities for optimization, such as adjusting equipment settings for energy efficiency, optimizing water flow rates, or implementing load shedding strategies to reduce peak demand.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for utility system failures or performance issues, utilizing diagnostic tools, equipment readings, and historical data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Oversee emergency repair efforts for critical utility infrastructure failures, coordinating with internal teams, external contractors, and equipment suppliers to expedite repairs and restore service quickly while prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Reviewing utilities consumption, monitoring maintenance costs, and developing strategies for optimizing expenses while ensuring high-quality work.
  • Implement energy conservation measures and demand-side management strategies to reduce campus energy consumption and operating costs. This may involve conducting energy audits, implementing lighting retrofits, and optimizing HVAC scheduling.

Qualification & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields. A master’s degree would be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ cognate experience with proven Project Engineering/Project Management experience.
  • Membership of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Project Management Professional (PMP), or relevant professional bodies.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) are highly desirable.
  •  Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for asset tracking and work order management.
  • Strong track record of successfully completed projects in the maintenance and facility management profession.
