Job Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with the area teams on marine logistics matters, and monitors the receipt and dispensation of fuel, water and material at the locations.
  • Ensuring marine equipment availability to the area team at the various locations
  • To ensure and enforce seaworthiness of all crafts operating at the locations listed and hence improves availability of craft at locations.
  • To ensure safe marine and stevedoring operations e.g. – moorings and berthing at the jetties, loading/ unloading of materials.
  • To ensure that SPDC marine HSE MS policies are strictly adhered to at the jetties.
  • To monitor and control areas of avoidable losses due to boat operations e.g. fuel usage, optimal craft utilization etc.
  • Managing fuel handling and accounting.
  • Scheduling / Journey Management of boats in line with operations demands.
  • Keep proper maintenance records of vessels and ensure minimal disruption to production operations.
  • To ensure a high level of discipline of boat crew through professionalism.

Requirements:

  • Secondary School Leaving Certificate/West African School Certificate
  • Adept at working with enterprise Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Skype, MS Teams); SharePoint, excel and smart phones.
  • Must have either River Master/Quarter Master certification or Efficient deck hand certification or Coxswain or Bosun certification. BOSIET and OSP are mandatory.
  • Must have sea going experience as a Coxswain, Bosun on offshore vessels or Rivers Master/Quarter Master on Inshore vessels or has worked as Beach Master capacity.
  • Must have experience in Behavioral safety and deployment / implementation of IOGP Life Saving Rules.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, safety culture change and implementation of the safety Management Systems SMS.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, manage and execute all vehicle contracts ensuring compliance with terms and conditions in collaboration with Lead, Land Transport Contracts
  • Manage contract performance to meet agreed service level.
  • Manage HSE aspects in vehicle contracts to ensure compliance.
  • Drive and implement the journey management system for Land Transport fleet operations.
  • Contribute to the development of Land Transport contract strategy and for the operation of all vehicles/equipment in SPDC (East/West), to ensure contractors complies to set standards in contract and in the Transport Manual
  • Manage own staff and contractor staff for effective service delivery.
  • Manage vehicles availability and utilization.
  • Manage fleet operation and assure integrity of asset.
  • Maintain accurate data on availability/utilization for strategic reviews.
  • Provide inputs into Land Transport asset replacement plan.
  • Perform checks on all vehicles/equipment (owned or leased) prior to use in SPDC operations.
  • Draw up operations annual budget and be responsible for execution as planned.
  • Assist with and if necessary, lead land transport related incident investigations.
  • Conduct internal inspection, MFIs and participate in internal Audits as per the departmental plans.
