Accountant
Responsibilities
- Timely and Accurate invoicing of all clients according to project completion.
- Daily review of general ledgers for accuracy.
- Creating periodic reports, such as cashflow, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, etc.
- Ensure monthly remittance of tax deductions for both Federal and Lagos State Tax Authorities.
- Maintain the schedule of prepaid expenses of the company.
- Monitor, review and follow up with clients on all invoices to ensure prompt payment, and any unusual delays should be brought to the MD’s notice.
- Resolves payment discrepancies and ensure timely posting of necessary transaction through the quick books.
- Create and review accounts receivables and payable reports and maintain aged records.
- Responsible for the effective and efficient workflow and performance of the account department, against defined goals and objectives, in order to ensure an excellent service is delivered to the business.
- Reconciliation and Month & Year end closing
- Carry out reconciliation of bank Account positions.
- Responsible for the Balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely monthly completion and swift resolution of outstanding items.
- Raise Journal entries to update inflow and outflow of funds.
- Complete year end closing and prepare schedules as per audit requirement.
- Performing audit and resolving discrepancies.
Qualifications
- First Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or other finance affiliated profession.
- Must be a chartered accountant from a recognised accounting professional body such as ACCA or ICAN.
- Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in accounting principles, coupled with a least one-year experience in a leading supervisory role in accounting.
- Ability to make appropriate decisions and able to use Quick Books for accounting operations.
