Environmental Officer
Responsibilities
The Environmental Advisor/ Project Co-ordinator will be responsible for:
- the day to day environmental supervision of works on various sites;
- preventing and reporting on environmental incidents;
- monitoring and quality control of the embedded environmental and ecological mitigation measures during the construction phases;
- liaising with Lagos state, LAWMA and all other regulatory bodies
- reviewing relevant documents, including risk assessments, method statements and evidence relating to all proposed work activities;
- conducting Tool-box talks or other environmental briefings to contractors;
- determining what level of environmental supervision is required during for work activities and how this will be communicated to subcontractors;
- undertaking other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
- Provide reliable and comprehensive administrative support to an Environmental Services team
- Provide appropriate input to the definition and development of our day to day operations, archiving, reporting, and recording systems for the Environmental Services Disciplines

- Assist the Discipline Leads and senior members of the discipline in mobilising members new recruits, both, permanent, secondment and subcontractors, and undertake coordination of paperwork.
- Interrogate project wide performance metrics as appropriate and assist in developing and producing Project statistics for monthly reporting + report back to the senior leadership team on a monthly basis articulately in a written and verbal manner through presentations and reports.
- Maintain records and databases, set up filing systems and manage daily operations
- Support Environmental Services single discipline Project Teams with Cost Management administration, data collection and maintenance of lists within the Cost Management remit.
- Assist in the coordination of bid activity ensuring disciplines feed in their information in a timely manner to the bid managers/directors and support the Business Growth and Sales lead for the division
Requirements
- Degree or Masters in Civil or Environmental Engineering/ Sustainability/ Environmental Management
- An understanding of business administration
- Excellent communication skills and collaboration skills are absolutely essential for the role (both written and verbal)
- Ability to be flexible. Some Saturday work may be required
- Professional approach with the ability to motivate others
- Good broad knowledge across the Environmental Services Disciplines and the willingness and ability to learn quickly
- Self-motivated with excellent personal time management skills
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
