Job Description
- Operate a 5 to 50-ton trailer truck in compliance with all relevant traffic laws and safety regulations. Ensure the safety of the vehicle, cargo, and all road users.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of the cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Plan the most efficient routes to deliver products to their destinations, taking into consideration traffic conditions and delivery schedules.
- Perform routine maintenance on the truck, including checking oil, water, and other fluid levels, as well as tire pressure. Report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, deliveries, and mileage. Complete all necessary paperwork, such as delivery receipts and logbooks.
- Keep open communication with the logistics team and dispatchers to report any delays, issues, or changes in delivery schedules.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, ensuring that products are delivered with professionalism and courtesy.
- Safeguard the cargo from theft and damage by ensuring the trailer is locked and secured when not in use.
- Comply with FMCG company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines, and adhere to any specific delivery requirements.
- Proven experience as a truck driver, especially in handling 5 to 50-ton trailer trucks.
- Familiarity with local and regional road networks to plan efficient routes.
- Male Prefareably needed for the role.
