Communities and even whole countries are better off.Job Summary:The Milk Collection Center Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the center, ensuring the seamless daily collection of milk from dairy suppliers and supply of same to the processor, and supervise the janitor to ensure the center is clean and meets health and safety expectations. The MCC Operator will work with the MCC manager to identify and engage new herder communities and cattle farms to ensure a sustainable supply of fresh milk to the center.Program/Practice/Department Overview:TechnoServe’s Building Precision Dairy Models in Nigeria (BuPreDMiN) aims to build a precision, sustainable, and productive local dairy value chain in Nigeria within 4 years in a way that increases the incomes, resilience, and carbon footprint of dairy farmers in Nigeria.Primary Functions & Responsibilities
- Sustain supply of fresh milk to the center through consistent engagement with the herder communities, commercial farms, and other suppliers
- Work with the herder productivity field team to identify specific training and re-training needs for herders
- Work with the quality coordinator to document data during milk collection, i.e., the volume of milk supplied by each herder/entrepreneur, test results,
- Maintain and update (where required) database of milk suppliers
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports using the template provided.
- Prepare a weekly payment schedule for milk supplied and share it with the finance officer for processing.
- Preside over the relationship between the MCC and all the milk suppliers in a way that not only attracts more suppliers to the centers but ensures retention of these suppliers
- Carry out any other duty that the MCC manager may assign.
Basic Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as entrepreneurship, agribusiness, or business administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience post NYSC working in a milk collection center/ food or FMCG retail outlet.
- Ability to use digital tools and applications – MS Word, MS Excel, AppSheet, etc.
- Experience in working in rural communities and managing stakeholders
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate data to a non-technical audience
- Strong written and oral communication skills and experience producing clear and concise reports in English language
Required Languages: Proficient in English and YorubaTravel: 10%Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to actively engage with community leaders
- Ability to develop well-written, cohesive analyses and reports;
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and strategy skills
- Strong skills in business software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
