Finance Advisor (Volunteer)
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Finance Advisor (Volunteer). The Finance Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting our financial management and reporting processes to ensure transparency, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
- Monitor budget allocations and expenditures to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of financial accounts and transactions.
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and analyses as required.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Support the development of annual budgets in collaboration with the Finance Team and Program Managers.
- Assist in forecasting financial needs and resources for upcoming projects and initiatives.
- Monitor budget variances and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in conducting internal audits and implementing recommendations for improvement.
- Support the preparation of financial documentation for audits and grant reporting.
Grant Management:
- Assist in tracking and reporting on grant funds, including budget utilization and expenditure tracking.
- Prepare financial reports and documentation for grant applications and reporting requirements.
Financial Systems and Processes:
- Contribute to the improvement of financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide training and support to staff and volunteers on financial procedures and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Previous 1-5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
