Physical Education Associate Teacher / Assistant
Job Profile
This position assists a certificated teacher or staff member.
- The Assistant PE Teacher at AISL will work closely with the Head PE Teacher to support the delivery of a comprehensive physical education program for elementary school students.
- The Assistant PE Teacher will assist in planning and implementing engaging and developmentally appropriate PE lessons, promoting physical fitness, skill development, and sportsmanship.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Associate Teacher performs any of the following duties:
- Support the lead PE Teacher in organizing and supervising physical activities, games, and sports for students.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and inclusive PE environment that encourages participation and fosters positive behavior.
- Assist the head teacher to teach children individually or in small groups on a variety of subjects, compiles, reviews, and records student assignments and progress.
- Monitors student behavior in the classroom, lunch area, during detention or at recess; disciplines students as necessary. Monitor students entering or leaving the building, between classes.
- Assist teacher with classroom management; assists in preparing teaching lessons: duplicates, organizes, distributes, and files teaching materials.
- Attends program meetings and workshops as required and/ or requested.
- Assumes reduced teaching responsibilities under the supervision of the Principal. See teacher job description. (Applies to Associate Teacher).
- Performs related duties as assigned to assist the teachers or administrative staff.

Performance Evaluation
- The Athletic Director will evaluate the job performance of the Instructional Assistant annually in accordance with AISL Board Policy.
- The Principal will evaluate the performance of the Associate Teacher.
