Overall Objectives:
- To provide efficient and effective leadership for the Credit department of the company.
- To contribute to the profitability of the Company through creation of quality credits in accordance with the policies of the Company and regulatory authorities.
Job Description/Key responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute business development and sales strategies for the Credit department
- Adhere and review the credit policies and guidelines of the company.
- Contribute to assets and liabilities generation.
- Prepare and submit credit reports to management and board of the company and regulators in timely manner.
- Monitor Risk Asset Portfolio and ensure adherence to regulatory standard.
- Conduct market intelligence on competition and information gathering for product review and development.
- Develop new products and review the offerings of the existing products.
- Attend meetings with Relationship Officers to structure appropriate facilities for customers.
- Organize in-house training for staff from time to time.
Skills and Person Specifications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong mathematical aptitude, analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to go the extra mile and deliver on deadlines
- Decision oriented with the ability to support with sound reasoning and logic
- Computer literate; fluency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with use of credit administration or other banking application software
Education and Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in any numerate discipline.
- Master degree or recognized professional qualification(s) would be an added advantage
- 7 years and above credit analysis and administration experience in banking sector or non-bank financial institutions.
